First off here are a few images from recent shenanigans and happenings.
Not sure what I really want to put really, but know that I need to write something on here that I can keep as an always accessible memory for finishing my degree.
I guess the first thing write down would be about the degree show that I spent the last 6 months planning with my fellow New Medians. It was on Friday and was the last official piece of work that is accessed, even though it doubles up as a showcase and celebration on the work we have done over the 3 years of study. The night its self went better than I could have hoped really. I don’t like social situations where my work is on display, I get nervous and generally dread the day it comes, but all in all I braved my own insecurities and felt that the whole night was well received. I only heard positive comments towards the Amoeba Project I was showcasing, people were in fact shocked and surprised at it which is exactly what I wanted to be honest. The only person who was negative towards it was some overweight, midlife crisis, wire hair woman, who just “Can’t see the point”. Oh well, we can’t please everyone. It was also great to see my Sisters make it over and bring that magic to the party that only they can do.
With this being the last thing on the Academic calender I can now officially say I have completed my degree. I haven’t had my official grade back, but I can’t see me failing, so I will go out on a limb and say that I am a Bachelor of Arts in the field of Interactive Media. 3 Years is a long time but on reflection it has flown by, maybe due to the lack of having my parents around to keep me earthed in reality. Luckily though, apart from finishing my degree, the other good news is that now I have finished I will finally get to catch up with my Mum, Dad and Thomas. This is awesome and I have looked forward too this since they left.
Urm, what else… Well there is Glastonbury Festival only a matter of weeks away, which I can actually now look forward too now without feeling guilty about neglecting my uni work. Very excited by spending the week in good company and in the magical Worthy Farm valley. Then after that I have a few weeks down time before visiting the capital with Ben and Emily to see Rhys Darby delivery comedy to our ears. Then summer will end and the countdown to my actual official graduation will begin, it is either in September or November, but in true Hull School of Art and Design fashion we still do not know the actual date. There is talk that my Mum may make the journey over here at that time to see my graduate and see the rest of her children, which will be really nice.
Last thing that is noteworthy will be the redesign coming to this very blog. I am still working on the ins and outs but it may end up looking like my showcase page that I did for the degree show. For an idea of what that looks like visit www.fourleaves.co.uk/things.
Thats it. Hello World.
