My name is Scott Hargroves. I create things out of pixels, mainly for the web, but sometimes just for kicks. Like when I built a Multitouch table in my spare time. I do other stuff too, like making short films, taking photos and sometimes sending the odd tweet.

Multitouchable

Currently working super hard on my final year project at uni. I decided to go a head and build myself a multitouch table. When this crazy idea first came to me I had no idea of the complexities such a project would entail. I am used to having coding nightmares that need to be resolved before a project can work, but never have I had such a hard time getting the hardware to play ball on a project. Granted this isn’t you average interactive installation but still everything needs to be so precise and positioned at the correct angle just for it to work in any fashion. To say I underestimated this would be the best way to describe this.

Thankfully I have reached a point where I know it works. There are bugs, naturally, but nonetheless this table is mulitouchable.

To follow the progress in a closer fashion, read the blog over at The Amoeba Project site.

Now it's your turn

SO completely over my head (that’s what your mom said). But seriously, way too smart for me… but really cool!

I guess that technically it is fairly complex. At it’s core the principles are as simple as reflection.

Now that it’s up and running you and Jack will have to come and play (that’s what your mom said…)

In fact you are lovingly invited to the launch night show on June 5th.
